Modern Prairie Girl, the PDF Patterns

Howdy everyone!

I just wanted to stop by here at the marie-madeline blog and share with you that I’ve designed and am now selling 2 new PDF patterns!!  I’m so excited with how they’ve turned out and I’d love to hear what you all think about them too!

The above pattern, Sophie Bags Crossbody & Clutch, is one of my favorite bag patterns. The crossbody is sturdy and perfect for long days, while still boasting of something pretty like the gathered eye-catching panel on the front of the bag. The clutch is one of my go-to bags. Not just because it is pretty, but because carrying it feels pretty!

Here are so more pictures of the Sophie bags!

The Reflections Quilt pattern is a quick and fun make for anyone that loves quilting (or at least wants to give it a try!). The pattern includes three sizes: twin, full/queen & king. So everyone can have one.

Our Booth!!

Quilt.2

We are so happy to be able to share pictures of the booth we had at International Quilt Market last weekend!  Of course, Abiah was so sweet and shared some pictures with you all last week too.

Quilt.9

Our past two booths (here and here) both had the white beadboard walls, but this time we decided to go with curtains.  We hemmed drop cloths (that was fun) for our curtains, and went with a more poppy color-theme than our two previous booths.

Quilt.4

We just can't thank FreeSpirit Fabrics and the ever-lovely Jennifer for sending us yardage of Jennifer's brand new Lucky Girl collection for our booth samples!!  We had the best time sewing with them (the colors are just perfect!).  And, since we received our bolts just a few days later the three of us that attended were able to have outfits to match too!

We also used some of Jennifer's Circa fabrics, as they mix perfectly with Lucky Girl.

Quilt.7

We were delighted to introduce our brand new patterns, angelica and charlotta, at Quilt Market!

Quilt.10

Our trips to Indiana always require some booth talk (our brothers get so bored, just ask them).  So, naturally, last time was no exception.  After seeing the awesome ladder our Nan and Aunt Ginger hung from our aunt's beauty shop ceiling, we knew it was the thing for our booth.  We bought one while we were up in IN, and Paps and Nan brought it down when they came (aren't they the best??).  We purchased burlap and lace, and intwined it across the top of our curtains and through the ladder.  We loved it.  Of course the ladder needed to be sawed some, which reguired a bit more work, but definitely was worth the effort.

Quilt.8

Apphia made some darling ever-popular posies to display on a three-tiered cake stand near the front of the booth.  And of course, we can't sign off without thanking our bestest friend, Jenny, for bringing us some GORGEOUS flowers to put in three blue Ball jars.  We loved them!

We have loads of pictures on our Instagram page, so go there to see what we did every.single.day!  It's always so much fun to get to chat with old friends, and make new ones too!  (Just ask Lindsay… we stood in her book line three different times so everyone could get a signed copy…)

It goes without saying we girls had a marvelous time with Nanny and Paps, and we can never thank them enough for all they do for us!  We love you two!!!

But, of course, we did leave part of our hearts at home with Mom and Abiah.  We just can't wait for the next time we can all attend Quilt Market together!!!

xoxoxoApphia, Achaia, & Abigail

PS… We did buy some fabric too!  We can't wait to show you!

more charlotta cuteness!

Pj's_08-26-13_0010
We are definitely crazy about this pattern.  All we want to do is make little girl jammies!!  Eleanor had lots of fun with these photos.  After all, it isn't every day you get encouraged to jump around on the bed!  (Although that would be very nice…)

Pj's_08-26-13_0012
We're also very excited that this will be the first time we've actually had our new patterns shipping in time for Quilt Market!!!

Pj's_08-26-13_0014
Now the only problem is that we're wishing charlotta came in our size.

Pj's_08-26-13_0005

Pj's_08-26-13_0001
We would curl up with a good book too, if it weren't for the 2000 patterns waiting to be stuffed and all the things to be sewn for Quilt Market.  Want to come over and help?  We will share our M&Ms.

Oh!  And for the month of October, we're giving everyone a 15% discount off their entire order from marie-madeline studio!  Just pop the code FALL15 in at checkout.

xoxo.

introducing charlotta!!!

Charlotta.cover2
We are super happy to introduce to you charlotta — our new sewing pattern for girls.  A pajama pattern for all seasons!  So many of you have requested jammies in the past, and they're finally here.  We absoutely LOVE this pattern!  There are lots of options, so it will keep you sewing spring through winter.

Charlotta.cover
Make a nightie, top and shorts, or top and pants.  Two sleeve styles included!  As usual, this pattern includes sizes 2/3 – 14/16, all in one envelope.  (Full size pattern pieces too, of course.  All printed in the USA on a nice heavy white paper!)

Charlotta.cover3
Shirring along the sleeve edges and leg holes sets these jammies apart as something extra special.  And they're quick to sew up, too!  (Not only that, they're crazy comfy.  All of our little testers gave rave reviews!)  We even like to style them as day clothes — the charlotta shorts look adorable underneath an angelica swing top.  The pants will make warm layers underneath little torrance dresses later this fall!

So… what do you think?!  The charlotta jammie set sewing pattern is now available on the website!

xoxo, us

P.S. More photos soon!

Introducing… the angelica jumper & swing top!

Cupcakes&floral0013Hello, angelica!

Cupcakes&floral0007

We are so excited to share our new girls sewing pattern with you!!!  Meet angelica, a sweet and twirly jumper with neck ties and a big back bow.

Cupcakes&floral0009

View A is a jumper with a 6-gored skirt, complete with apron (a favorite with little girls, so we're told!) and a fun fabric flower corsage.  This style is very boutique-y, but it sews up super fast!  The elastic casing along the back of the bodice gives a neat fit.

Cupcakes&floral0006

Cupcakes&floral0016

Cupcakes&floral0008
And angelica view B is an uber-twirly 12-gored swing top that goes perfectly with leggings or tessa bloomers!  (It's also a great companion to our next up and coming pattern… full reveal soon!)

Cupcakes&floral0002
This is one of our favorites!  Eleanor gave the swing top two thumbs up.

Cupcakes&floral0004
Could she be any cuter?!

Cupcakes&floral0003

So here's the full scoop on angelica

  • Sizes 2/3 – 14/16, all in one envelope and printed on sturdy paper right here in the USA.
  • Full-size pattern pieces and fully illustrated instructions.
  • Jumper (A) finishes a couple inches below the knee; swing top (B) finishes mid-thigh.
  • Back elastic casing.
  • Instructions for flower corsage included.
  • Available for pre-order now and shipping within the next two weeks!

We're really excited about this little jumper.  It's so versatile!  In the summertime it makes a great sundress, but layers nicely over a t-shirt or peasant top.  And angelica is lots of fun to sew!

What do you think?!

IMG_6716edited2

And here is our Eleanor modeling view A of the new pattern!  Special thanks to our dear friends, the Pearlstein family, for these lovely photos!

DSC_2778

View A is knee length, with two tiers and a baby ruffle accent.  It's perfect for everyday — just add some leggings for a fun play skirt!

We love how the darison skirts pair so perfectly with the amelia peasant top.

the happy girl apron… coming soon!!

Brochure1

Say hello to the happy girl apron – a sweet
confection that’s nothing but fun! With four layers of girly ruffles, this
apron was designed to make baking cookies (or throwing parties) just that much
more happy. Adult size fits most. The girls’ apron includes sizes Small (3, 4,
5) Medium (6, 7, 8) and Large (10, 12, 14). Our little girl friends even like
wearing a matching happy girl apron over their clothes as a
boutique-style addition to any outfit. And since both adult and children’s
sizes are included in this one simple pattern, it’s the perfect Mommy and Me
apron, too!

Cover4

Some of you may recognize the adult happy girl apron as a rejuvinated version of our frilly fandango apron pattern that retired long ago.  Now it's back with an updated size range, because we just felt like every little girl needs a ruffle-y apron at some point in her life!  And this one fits the bill, for sure.  (We made ours out of Lecien's 4 Girls Collection Berry Doll.)

By the way, that cake really was delicious.  It was chocolate inside!

more rosa lea…

IMG_8239edited

IMG_8289edited

Here's one thing we LOVE about the rosa lea dress.  It layers over tessa bloomers and looks so very, very cute.  Then, of course, you can play in your dress all day long!  And for moms who like a little more length, the bloomers look like a petticoat… which makes the dress grow with the girl, too.

IMG_8329edited

The fact that we have the cutest little friends to model for us helps, too!  And here is the same dress with leggings…

We wanted to let you all know that you can pre-order the rosa lea dress pattern through our website now!  Just pop it into your cart, and we'll ship it out as soon as the patterns arrive from the printer (which should be next week!).  And if you'd like the tessa bloomers pattern as well, we've extended our $4.98 sale… but quantities are limited!

Lots of love,
